After obtaining an MFA degree at AFI, my viewpoint has not changed much- Cinematography is an ideology for me, not a job, it is a way of living life. My commitment to the camera work consists of research where every new frame has a new angle and different light. The essence is a constant search for beauty, being able to recreate it on the screen and share it with others. Just as we needed a brush and canvas to capture exquisite moments in the past, we now need light and a camera to capture moments of the present, and continue painting on the film, with use of passion, expression, creativity in each new scene.
The moment we stop searching, learning and progressing, we shoot the last frame of our life's movie. I am only too happy to be an operating part of my camera which will continue recording the truth, just like thousands of other cameras do
